The Division of Nephrology, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, seeks applications from a trained transplant nephrologist for a full-time clinical educator faculty position. The academic title will be on the clinical track at a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications. University of Michigan Multi-Organ Transplant Program is one of the largest programs in the country and performs approximately 300 kidney transplants a year.
Duties of the successful candidate will include inpatient care, outpatient practice including acute and long-term care of transplant recipients, satellite and kidney transplant biopsy clinics, evaluation of kidney transplant candidates and potential living donors; evaluation and follow-up of wait-listed patients and patients with chronic kidney disease complicating liver, heart or lung transplantation; and clinical education of nephrology and transplant fellows. Participation in clinical and/or translational research is highly encouraged.
Qualifications:
Interested applicants will have a doctoral degree (MD or equivalent) and AST certified Transplant Fellowship training or relevant clinical transplant experience to qualify for UNOS certification. Applicants need to be Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Certified/Eligible in Nephrology. Successful candidates should demonstrate outstanding teaching and clinical skills.
