Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOur organization is situated in Clarksburg, West Virginia, catering to a veteran community of around 70,000 individuals across north central West Virginia and neighboring counties in Maryland, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. We provide a range of inpatient services, including acute medical care, surgical procedures, acute psychiatric treatment, and specialized rehabilitation programs for substance abuse and PTSD, along with nursing home services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct urology consultations for both inpatients and outpatients.
- Assess and manage urology emergencies in various settings, including the Emergency Department, outpatient clinic, inpatient wards, ICU, and operating room.
- Deliver comprehensive professional services encompassing a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient urology procedures.
- Enhance patient access to medical services by suggesting suitable referrals to other healthcare professionals, adhering to relevant policies and regulations.
- Admit, evaluate, and treat surgical or medical patients presenting with conditions affecting the genitourinary system.
- Monitor patients to identify any changes in physical condition, lab results, and vital signs prior to surgical interventions, ensuring accurate documentation in medical records.
- Perform both minor and major surgical procedures as required.
- Inform patients and their families about the risks, benefits, and alternative treatment options, securing informed consent before any invasive procedures.
- Conduct regular postoperative follow-ups, provide patient education, and manage wound care upon discharge in a timely manner.
- Execute emergency surgical procedures as necessary.
- Complete all required electronic clinical documentation and daily charting promptly.
- Engage in surgical quality and performance improvement initiatives.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Recruitment Incentive: Sign-on bonus available.
- Education Debt Reduction Program: Eligible for student loan repayment assistance through the EDRP, subject to specific eligibility criteria. Applications must be submitted within four months of appointment, with potential awards up to $200,000 over one to five years.
- Salary: Competitive compensation ranging from $300,000 to $400,000, along with annual performance bonuses and regular salary increments.
- Paid Time Off: Enjoy 50-55 days of paid leave annually, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for continuing medical education (CME).
- Retirement: Access to a traditional federal pension after five years of service and a federal 401K plan with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.

- Licensure: Must possess one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.

- Contract: No employment contract required, with minimal restrictions on additional work opportunities.
Work Schedule: The standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, though this may vary based on the Medical Center's needs. On-call duties may be required.
Contract Buy Out Program: This role may qualify for the Physician/Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which allows for the buyout of service contracts in exchange for employment at designated rural or highly rural facilities for a minimum of four years.
