We are currently seeking a board-certified, full-time Urologist to join our Urology department within our healthcare system. This role involves providing surgical interventions for urologic conditions and diseases, conducting a comprehensive array of urological surgical procedures, and offering diagnostic, management, and counseling services to the Veteran population we serve. The selected candidate will ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe patient care both in the operating room and beyond. Additionally, there is an opportunity for a faculty appointment at a local university, where the Urologist will engage in the education and training of Urology fellows, medical residents, students, and other healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage all facets of the Urology Surgery Program, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with urological diseases, adhering to established standards and techniques in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Handle administrative tasks related to patient care management, such as documenting progress notes, histories and physicals, discharge summaries, and consultations.
- Utilize electronic medical records effectively.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Anesthesiologists, Surgical Providers, and medical support staff, to ensure timely and efficient patient care delivery.
- Provide mentorship to Urology providers.
- Engage in service-level and hospital committees as required and participate in the facility's peer review program.
- Contribute to resident training initiatives.
- Offer a range of services, including the treatment of genitourinary medical conditions, performing both outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures, and providing consultations, evaluations, and pre- and postoperative care.
Our facility, located in Oklahoma City, OK, serves as the flagship for the Oklahoma VA Health Care System. It is a Joint Commission accredited, referral level 1b facility that caters to over 70,000 veterans across 48 counties in Oklahoma and 2 counties in North Central Texas. Work ScheduleThis is a full-time position, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 08:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Eligibility Criteria- U.S. Citizens will receive preference; non-U.S. Citizens may also be considered.
- A current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or Urology in the United States is required.
- Board Certification in Urology is mandatory.
The starting salary ranges from $320,000 to $400,000 annually.
- Retirement: Participate in the Federal Retirement Plan through the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), which includes Social Security benefits, FERS-FRAE basic benefits (pension), and a Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) with up to 5% government matching contributions.
