Sterile Processing Tech (Sterile Processing Tech) Olympia, Washington
A Sterile Processing Tech position is available with the organizations sterile processing team supporting acute care services. Responsibilities include decontamination and processing of surgical instruments, along with sterilization-related quality and documentation tasks. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights; Monday through Friday (no weekends), 8 shift hours, minimum 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Certifications: Certified Biological Safety Procedures (CBSPD) OR Certified Instrumentation Processing (CRCST) (also noted as equivalent through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM)
- Education/Training: Not specified
- License: License must be brought on the first day
- Experience: 0 years minimum experience required
- Location/Residency: Locals accepted: No
- Preferred Qualifications: Preference for 2 years experience
- Additional Information:
- Will accept either CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM)
- Skills include: acute hospital support; cleaning equipment (crash carts, IV pumps, PCA pumps); high-level disinfection (HLD); use of washers/sterilizers; case cart; proper selection of wrapping materials; sterilization wrapping procedures; sets/trays assembly; equipment documentation; and processing support across specialties including Ear/Nose/Throat, General, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Plastics, and Urology
- Sterilization knowledge includes biological indicators, chemical indicators, steam sterilization testing/monitoring, and immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS)
- Start date: ASAP
- On-call required: No
- RTO: All RTO must be included in the submittal
- Submission references: 2 references covering 1 year (6 months for CNA s) within the last 3 years during the compliance process and prior to start (can include charge RNs/lead)
- Local travel restriction: Local travelers with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility will not be eligible for a travel contract
