Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a combined Stepdown and Floor unit (31 beds) managing a variety of diagnoses including cardiac, MedSurg, IDDM, COPD, trauma, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and pain management cases
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 on the Stepdown unit and 1:5–6 on the Floor unit
- Titrate drips in the Stepdown setting and manage Heparin infusions on the Floor
- Monitor telemetry, read, and interpret cardiac rhythm strips independently; telemetry technicians are available on unit
- Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, respiratory therapy, and nurse aides to deliver safe, coordinated patient care
- Adhere to holiday coverage expectations and dress code requirements (Royal Blue scrubs)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current BLS certification (required)
- Current ACLS certification (required)
- Demonstrated ability to titrate IV drips, including Heparin infusions
- Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry/cardiac rhythm strips
- Compliance with facility eligibility requirements for travel nursing placements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
- Familiarity with a high-acuity, multi-diagnosis patient population including cardiac and trauma patients
- Experience working in a telemetry-monitored unit environment
