Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist at a Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, WI, with 2+ years of acute or surgical experience and strong fluoroscopy and OR procedural skills.
Details
- Work in a Radiology department at a 636-bed, Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center in Milwaukee, WI
- Department includes 5 diagnostic rooms, 2 fluoro rooms, 1 video swallow room, 2 clinic diagnostic rooms, 3 pain clinic rooms, and 1 dental room
- Patient population includes inpatient, outpatient, ED, and procedural cases across all age ranges with some pediatric patients
- Average caseload of 15–20 patients per tech per day
- Fluoroscopy procedures include ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain clinic procedures, and urology cases
- OR procedures include orthopedic, general, and spine cases; comfort with O-arm preferred
- Equipment includes GE, Fuji, and Del Medical X-ray systems; GE 9900 and Elite C-arms; Medtronic O-arms; and McKesson PACS
- EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
- 5x8-hour evening shifts with start times between 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM
- Schedule runs Monday–Friday with every-other-weekend rotation; one weekday off the week before and after each work weekend
- One on-call shift per week (call windows: 6:30 AM–2:00 PM, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, or 10:30 PM–6:30 AM)
- One holiday worked per 13-week contract
- No floating to other units required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute or surgical Radiology experience, with recent experience within the last year
- ARRT certification required
- Wisconsin Radiologic Technologist license required if applicable
- BLS required
- Proficiency in surgical/procedural imaging, general radiology, and portable X-ray
- Experience with fluoroscopy procedures (ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain clinic, urology) and OR imaging (ortho, general, spine)
- Mid-to-high level acute care hospital experience required
- 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the last year, required for consideration
- Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
- Candidate middle name or initial required for consideration
Additional Information
- Radiologist on site 24/7, with additional 24/7 support from RT, hospitalist, and intensivist
- Lead tech available on first shift; department staffed with 14 techs on days, 7 on second shift, and 3 on third shift
- Orientation includes facility NEO followed by 7 days of department-specific training
- Fast-paced unit with high patient acuity
- Surgery scrubs provided by the facility
- Free parking available on site
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on skill level; highly competent surgical and procedural experience is expected
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
- Local candidates are accepted
- RTO requests must be approved by the unit manager
