Job Title: Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech)
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Details: 8hr Evening Shift (40 hours/week) – 5x8s | Start time between 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Every other weekend | 1 call shift/week
Job Summary
The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple patient care settings, including inpatient, outpatient, ED, and surgical environments. This role requires strong experience in general radiology, fluoroscopy, and operating room procedures in a high-acuity hospital.
Facility Overview
- 636-bed hospital
- Level III Trauma Center
- Level III NICU
- Magnet Designated
- Primary Stroke Center
Department Overview
- 5 diagnostic rooms, 2 fluoro rooms, 1 video swallow room
- Additional clinic and procedural rooms
- Average 15–20 patients per tech per day
- Fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general radiography and portable imaging
- Assist with fluoroscopy procedures (ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain management, urology)
- Support surgical imaging in OR (orthopedic, general, spine cases)
- Operate C-arm and assist with o-arm procedures
- Ensure patient safety and proper positioning
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR
- Collaborate with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams
Patient Population
- Inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and procedural patients
- All age groups (minimal pediatrics)
Required Qualifications
- ARRT Certification – Required
- Wisconsin State License – Required
- BLS Certification – Required
- Minimum 2 years acute care or surgical radiology experience
Skills Required
- General radiology and portable imaging
- Fluoroscopy procedures (ERCP, bronchoscopy, urology, pain clinic)
- OR experience (orthopedic, spine, general surgery)
- Experience with C-arm (o-arm preferred)
- Ability to work in high-acuity settings
Department Support
- Lead Tech on 1st shift
- Radiologist, RT, Hospitalist, and Intensivist available 24/7
- Large, supportive radiology team
Technology & Equipment
- EMR: EPIC
- X-ray Equipment: GE, Fuji, Del Medical
- PACS: McKesson
- C-arm: GE 9900, Elite, and GE o-arm systems
Floating Requirements
- No department floating
- Flexibility required with varying start times
Scheduling Details
- Every other weekend rotation
- One call shift per week (varied shifts)
- One holiday per contract
- Schedule includes weekday adjustments around weekend shifts
Orientation
- NEO (New Employee Orientation)
- 7 days departmental orientation
