Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 3 years of PICU experience and Level I Trauma Center background.
Details
- Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital
- Average patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-7:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float to other pediatric units as needed within scope of practice, including Pediatric ED, NNICU, inpatient departments, and psych unit
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Minimum 3 years of PICU experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience in cardiac critical care preferred
- CRRT and ECMO certifications preferred
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients requiring respiratory, cardiovascular, neurologic, renal, and gastrointestinal interventions
- Skilled care includes ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, and management of dysrhythmias
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
- Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
- Requests for RTO greater than 7 days require additional approval
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
