Job Summary:
The surgical technician/operating room technician (ORT), supporting anesthesia technology and registered nurses (RNs), is needed at a healthcare facility in Puyallup, Washington. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of acute/inpatient operating room experience and hold the required certifications, including BLS and state registration for surgical tech. The role involves working 12-hour night or day shifts, with occasional weekends and on-call duties. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Puyallup, WA
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 10:30 PM to 9:00 AM, with occasional shifts from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM, and night shifts from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for RN, Operating Room Technician (ORT), and Anesthesia Tech roles; state registration for surgical tech; 2 years of acute/inpatient OR experience; experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, spine, robotics (DaVinci), ENT (Thyroid), general, vascular, urology, podiatry, and other listed specialties.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with robotic surgery (Robotic Mazer/DaVinci XI), flexibility, teamwork-oriented attitude, reliability, and a good attitude.
- Additional Information:
- Support for anesthesia with robotics, A-line management, and other anesthesia-related procedures.
- Floating to inpatient areas may be required based on census.
- Call requirement of 4-6 shifts per 6-week schedule, including nights and weekends, with a 30-minute response time.
- No sleep rooms available.
- Rhythm exam needed prior to arrival for RN.
- Scrub color provided.
- No phones on the unit; scheduled break times include 15-minute and 30-minute rest and lunch breaks.
