Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Bowling Green, KY, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and on-call availability including weekends.
Details
- Located in a hospital surgical unit (Surgery 701) on the main campus, first floor
- 10-bed OR unit with a 1:1 patient ratio
- Procedures include orthopedics, general surgery, urology, GYN, and ENT — averaging 25–35 cases per day
- High-volume joint and robotic surgery program, performing over 1,300 total joints and 550 DaVinci robotic procedures annually
- Equipment includes the DaVinci XI (x2), MAKO, Velys hip and knee system, and Hana bed
- Documents using Meditech EMR
- Shift: 6:00 AM–6:30 PM; elective cases run 7:00 AM–6:30 PM
- On-call is required: 2 first-call and 2 second-call weekdays per week, plus one weekend per month (48-hour call on weekends)
- Call shift hours: first call 6:30 PM–7:00 AM; second call 6:30–9:00 PM
- No floating required
Requirements
- Active KY or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Unit support staff includes a manager, board runner, holding nurse, surgical attendants, and anesthesia tech
- Work environment is described as team-oriented and work-friendly, featuring advanced surgical technology
- Candidates must provide their own scrubs
