Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Stepdown/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position located in Henderson, Kentucky. This contract role offers an opportunity to work in a dedicated stepdown unit, providing specialized patient care for a diverse patient population. The role involves handling complex clinical scenarios and demonstrating strong assessment and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Position: Step Down/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Henderson, KY
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Start Date: 09/07/2026
- Certifications: Must have current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
- Experience: At least 2 years as an RN, including one solid year of stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with recent EPIC charting experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)
- Patient Population: Stepdown/PCU patients, including those on drips (insulin, heparin, cardiac), sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, cirrhosis, dementia, and surgical urology, abdominal, ortho cases
- Skillset: Required - Tele interpretation (travelers required to pass tele tests), initiate/titrate insulin, heparin, cardiac drips. Preferred - PIV insertion, stable home vents, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stable drips (Lasix, Protonix), blood product administration, continuous BiPap, drain management, neutropenic precautions
- Float Requirements: First to float within skillset, potential float to other nearby campuses with 2-hour notice; mid-shift float within same campus
- On-Call/Back: Not required
- Weekend/Holidays: Every third weekend; every other holiday
- Additional Info: Must have strong assessment skills, resilience, adaptability to change, and the ability to manage clinical complexities. Small unit with excellent team cohesion and experienced staff.
- Interview Days: Monday through Friday, MSP Interview type
- Unit Details: 15 beds, with tele, stepdown, and other specialized patient areas; nurse-to-patient ratios vary between day and night shifts.
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs with no competing logo
