Job Summary:
A Step Down Unit registered nurse is needed in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This position involves providing care to a diverse patient population, including stroke, cardiac (preferably with cardiac drips), post-operative (orthopedic, urology, gynecology, general surgery, etc.), and other medical patients. The role requires adaptability and the ability to care for a wide variety of patients, with responsibilities including managing various clinical scenarios and collaborating within a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/30/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH); at least 2 years of Medical Surgical (MS) or Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) experience. Must be adaptable and capable of caring for a broad patient demographic, including stroke, cardiac (preferably with cardiac drips), post-operative patients (orthopedic, urology, gynecology, general surgery, etc.), and general medical patients. Experience with EPIC electronic health record system; travel experience preferred. May need to float onsite within the skill set or to sites within 40 miles if required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a similar hospital or healthcare environment.
- Additional Information: The position is located at 19333 West North Avenue, Brookfield, Wisconsin. The role entails managing a varied patient caseload with flexibility to float within the healthcare providers network as needed.
