Unit Notes:- Hiring Process: Candidate InterviewInterview with MedSol Clinical Team- No Unit Manager involvementRadius:60 MILES, DL must be submittedFloating roles: Travelers are expected to float throughout the zone they are hired into. Each zone covers a 60 mile radius from the zone's city center which is where the 60 mile verbiage comes into play. The traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes this feasible as the requirement to float throughout the full 60 mile zone applies regardless of where the traveler obtains housing. Week of orientation: Please ensure clinicians are in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are remote **NO HOME BASE FACILITY ** MUST be 60 miles from each facility! Must float within Zone 1: (Based around Colorado Springs, CO): Penrose Hospital - 7 miles from Colorado Springs City Center2222 N Nevada Ave Colorado Springs, COSt. Francis Medical Center 12 miles from Colorado Springs City Center6001 E Woodmen Rd Colorado Springs, CO St. Francis InterQuest 13 miles from Colorado Springs City Center10860 New Allegiance Drive Colorado Springs, COSt. Mary Corwin 46 miles from Colorado Springs City Center1008 Minnequa Ave Pueblo, CO St. Thomas More 45 miles from Colorado Springs City Center1338 Phay Ave Canon City, COSchedules are released 4 6 weeks in advance and follow one of two formats:Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week May float within that facility if neededOption B Just-In-Time (JIT): Facility assigned 1 2 hours before shift start via callWhat units are included in the float poolMutliple units ranging for General MS-Tele into various specialities from Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, & ED ObsNurse:Patient Ratios1:5-6 based on acuityRequired Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS)BLS, ACLS, NIHSSCommon diagnoses/Types of patients"Population: Adults- GeriatricsCardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology-post surgicals, General Surgery-post appy, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, General Medicine, stable long term placement patients, and more"Experience or 'Must have' skills"Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience Prefer prior neuro experience"Are RNs required to titrate dripsHeparinCharge Nurse/House Supervisor Does the charge nurse take an assignmentDesignated Charge on each unit; doesn't take a patient assignment unless necessary; more common for night shift charge to end up with a small pt assignmentAre there nurse aids on this unit/RatiosYesRT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc)YesShifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling Block scheduling)"7-7, Schedule is made out by leadership for 6 wks at a time, travelers are expected to be flexible and help to fill gaps in permanent scheduling.
