Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position in Wausau, Wisconsin. This clinical assignment involves providing patient care on a medical and pediatrics unit specializing in respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal issues, and other acute and chronic conditions. The RN will support inpatient care with a focus on resilience, adaptability, and collaboration.
Job Details:
- Shift: 12-hour days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with the possibility of float to inpatient units as needed.
- Schedule: 48 hours per week, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, BLS from AHA or ARC, minimum of 2 years of experience with trauma level II experience highly preferred, EPIC charting experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.
- On Call/Call Back Requirements: Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be scheduled in hour increments; this is not considered on call.
- Additional Information: Unit treats adults with respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal illnesses, diabetic management, renal failure, and more. Typical patient ratios are 1:4-5 during the day and 1:6-7 at night. Candidates should be resilient, adaptable, collaborative, and capable of managing tasks independently with a positive attitude. Flu season policies require masks for unvaccinated travelers.
