Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring OR RN licensure and at least three years of relevant experience.
Details
- ,iology unit within a hospital setting
- Provides care for patients undergoing invasive interventional procedures such as angiography, embolization, and cardiac catheterization
- Day shift schedule with 5 shifts per week at 8 hours per shift
- Scheduled hours are 06:30-15:00
- May be required to take call for the Interventional Unit as needed
- Reports to the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, or RN Team Leader
Requirements
- Active RN license in the State of Oregon
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- OR RN license required
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, BSN preferred
- Minimum one year of experience in critical care, emergency, cath lab, or IR required
- Three or more years of experience in Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab preferred
- Conscious sedation training and monitor role experience preferred
- Specialty certifications such as RCIS or NIH Stroke Scale preferred
- IV certification preferred
- Bilingual English-Spanish skills preferred
Additional Information
- Administer medications including anticoagulants, vasoactive agents, contrast, and emergency drugs
- Maintain sterile technique and act as patient advocate during procedures
- Recognize and respond rapidly to complications such as arrhythmia, bleeding, contrast reaction, stroke alert, or cardiac arrest
- Collaborate with Rad Tech and physicians to manage contrast allergies and sensitivities
- May function in scrub role, preparing sterile instruments and assisting physicians during catheter-based procedures
- May function in monitor role, recording hemodynamic data, pressures, and procedural events
- Provide moderate sedation per protocol and monitor vital signs, oxygenation, and level of consciousness when assigned
- Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and verification processes including allergies, NPO status, and renal function
- Perform sheath pulls and vascular access management as needed
- Assist with department support tasks including supply management, room turnover, and equipment maintenance
- Ability to provide age-specific, culturally sensitive, and psychosocially appropriate patient care
- Ability to work with a culturally diverse patient population
