Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MICU position requiring 2 years of ICU experience, a CT or compact RN license, and Epic charting proficiency.
Details
- 10-bed Medical ICU within a short term acute care hospital
- Level II Trauma Center with 426 staffed beds
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, central line/PICC line/arterial line management, and blood product administration
- Skilled in care of ventilated patients, HFNC, and ETT/NT suctioning
- Skilled in CVP monitoring, IABP, and pre/post cardiac cath/intervention care
- Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Skilled in continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade administration
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
- Skilled in management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Skilled in IV insulin protocols and isolation precautions/PPE
- One professional reference required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to medically critical ICU patients including cardiac, respiratory, and renal cases
- Part of the Yale New Haven Health System with free parking available
- Local candidates not accepted within a 75-mile radius of the hospital
- Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
- First-time travelers may be considered if they meet the 2-year specialty experience requirement
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
