Position Overview
North Georgia Nephrology Consultants is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing nephrology practice. This position offers a dynamic work environment across our main office in Athens, GA and satellite clinics in Monroe and Loganville, with additional exposure to hospital-based care under physician supervision.
We welcome both experienced providers and new graduates who are eager to build a career in nephrology.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive care to patients with kidney-related conditions, including chronic kidney disease (CKD), hypertension, electrolyte disorders, and dialysis management
Conduct patient assessments, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
Monitor and manage patients undergoing dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis)
Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care

Requirements
Qualifications
Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Georgia (or eligible for licensure)
Membership in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) required
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Previous software experience with Epic is preferred
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred, especially in nephrology, internal medicine, or related fields
New graduates are encouraged to apply
Work Schedule
Part-time applicants will be considered
Rotating schedule between Athens (main office), Monroe, and Loganville locations
Occasional hospital coverage (a few hours weekly) with physician supervision
