Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position in an acute care hospital radiology department in Manchester, NH.
Details
- Located in a hospital radiology department (Level A) with 4 ultrasound rooms
- Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric
- Patient caseload of 8–10 exams per 8-hour shift
- Equipment includes Siemens Acuson S200 and GE Logiq E10
- EMR: Allscripts; PACS: InteleRad
- Night shift, 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday through Thursday
- Weekends are covered by dedicated weekend staff; no on-call required for this position
- Opportunity for extra shifts within the department; those with breast ultrasound experience may have additional opportunities at a breast care center
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in ultrasound, with active experience within the last 6 months
- Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting with exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography
- Current BLS, RDMS certification, and NH MIRT Licensure required — license required if applicable
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and pathology with ability to recognize normal vs. abnormal findings
- Solid scanning skills with understanding of sonographic physics and techniques
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
Additional Information
- Procedures include thoracentesis, paracentesis, FNAs (thyroid, parotid, lymph node), soft tissue and lymph node biopsies, liver and renal biopsies, drainages (abscesses, cysts, hematomas, gallbladders), and thrombin injections
- OR procedures include breast needle placements, carotid studies, D&Cs, and prostate biopsies
- Night shift is staffed with one sonographer; day shift has four sonographers plus a supervisor
- Additional certifications such as RVT, OB-GYN, or AB are preferred; OR and ultrasound-guided procedure experience is a plus
- Any color professional, clean-appearing scrubs or radiology-themed t-shirts are acceptable
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
