Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist at a Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, WI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of acute or surgical experience and strong proficiency in surgical, fluoroscopy, and procedural imaging.
Details
- Work in a large 636-bed Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with Magnet Designation and a Level III NICU
- Radiology department includes 5 diagnostic rooms, 2 fluoro rooms, 1 video swallow room, 2 clinic diagnostic rooms, 3 pain clinic rooms, and 1 dental room
- Patient population includes inpatient, outpatient, ED, and procedural cases across all age ranges with occasional pediatric patients
- Average caseload of 15–20 patients per tech per day
- Fluoroscopy procedures include ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain clinic procedures, and urology cases
- OR cases include orthopedic, general, and spine procedures; comfort with O-arm preferred
- Additional responsibilities include general radiography and portable imaging
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- Imaging equipment includes GE, Fuji, and Del Medical X-ray systems; GE 9900 and Elite C-arms; Medtronic O-arms; McKesson PACS
- 8-hour night shifts, Monday–Friday (third shift)
- Start times flex 1–1.5 hours depending on staffing needs
- Every other weekend rotation; weekends are defined as Friday night and Saturday night
- One on-call shift per week; call windows are 6:30 AM–2:00 PM, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, and 10:30 PM–6:30 AM
- One holiday required per 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute care or surgical radiology experience
- ARRT certification required
- Active WI Radiology license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
- Proficiency in surgical/procedural imaging, general radiography, and portable X-ray
- Experience with fluoroscopy procedures including ERCPs, bronchoscopies, and urology cases
- Experience with OR imaging including orthopedic, general, and spine cases; O-arm experience preferred
- Mid-to-high level hospital experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Fast-paced unit with high-acuity patients
- Department is staffed with 14 techs on days, 7 on second shift, and 3 on third shift
- Lead tech present on first shift; radiologist, RT, hospitalist, and intensivist available on-site 24/7
- Orientation includes facility NEO followed by 7 days of department-specific training
- Schedule includes one day off the week leading into a work weekend and one day off the following week
- RTO requests must be approved by the facility manager
- Surgery scrubs provided on-site
- Free parking available on-site
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on skill level, with a strong preference for candidates with highly competent surgery and procedure experience
