- Average Daily Census: 16
- Ratios: 1:2–3 (Adults)
Common Diagnoses:
- Trauma
- Cardiac cases
- Overdose / Substance abuse
- Sepsis
- Post-stent
- Pacemaker placement
- Stroke
- Vascular cases
- Renal failure
- Heart failure
- Respiratory distress
💉 Skills & Equipment
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Drip Titration Required: YES
- Cardiac drips
- Insulin
- Sedation
- Respiratory Equipment:
- Nasal cannula → Vent
- CPAP
- BiPAP
- High Flow
(RNs expected to manage/troubleshoot)
- Tele Monitoring:
- RNs must read, interpret & document strips
- Monitor Brand: GE
- Tele tech oversight available
👩⚕️ Support Staff
- Nurse Aides (based on census)
- 1:1 sitting
- Floor assistance as needed
- Healthcare Support Tech
- 3 days/week (M–F, 0800–1630)
🗓 Scheduling Details
- Shifts:
- Days: 0630–1830
- Nights: 1830–0630
- Self-scheduling available for core staff
- Travelers added in
- Block scheduling NOT guaranteed
- Floating:
- Typically to PCU
- Occasionally MedSurg
- Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Minimum 2 holidays during contract
