JOB DESCRIPTION
Grafton - Surg Room
● About Facility:
o Grafton, WI
o Level III Trauma Center
o Level II NICU
o Primary Stroke Center
o Beds: 167
● Unit Information:
o Beds: 8 ORs total
▪ Census? Average patients/day?
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 3 years
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Upon Review
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Primarily cardiothoracic surgeries – CABGs, valve repairs, etc.
o Could float to Main OR for general, plastics, vascular, urology, GYN, ENT, Robotics cases
● Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o BLS
● Skills required:
o Experience with cases above
● Support within the Department:
o Charge nurse – does not take a patient load; will staff occasional cases if necessary
o Unit Secretary during the day
o Phlebotomy
o RRT 24/7
o Hospitalist 24/7
o On Call Surgeons 24/7
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o IV Pump: Alaris
o Med dispensing: Pyxis
● Floating: If yes, where?
o Yes, will be placed in a general surgery rotation
● Orientation (facility and unit):
o NEO
o 1 shift in the department to learn the flow
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: call only, see below
o On call? Yes
▪ Weekends: 2 weekends per month
▪ Weekdays: 2-3 weeknights every week
o Holiday Expectations: 1 holiday if applicable (call only)
o Approval of RTO: Can approve up to 7 days
o Shift times: Monday – Friday, 0645-1530 (flexible start/stop times to accommodate CVOR volume)

o Scrub Color: Ceil Blue, provided
o Parking: Free parking lots
